Metro Pizza is not a chain. It's neither a large corporation nor part of the current trend concerned with profits and bottom lines traded for diminishing food quality. It is the result of an Italian man, Salvatore Boccia, taking his knowledge of Italian food, bringing this knowledge to America, and kindly sharing it through this restaurant venue. We are very proud and work hard to continue this tradition. In this day of going to "heat and eat" chains, one would be hard pressed to find another restaurant for miles that goes to the lengths Metro Pizza does to assure quality. What sets us apart from others is our passion for offering food in an "old school" manner. Since Metro Pizza opened over 25 years ago, the following has never changed: dough is made from scratch daily and is never frozen. Our salads are made daily from actually breaking open lettuce, not ever from bagged lettuce and pre-cut vegetables, filled with preservatives. We take pride in making our pasta sauce from oven baked vegetables, cooked in 100% extra virgin olive oil, premium spices and tomatoes. Our pizza sauce is made from scratch. We buy a variety of mozzarella, provolone and cheddar cheeses, which are of the highest quality. We cut the cheeses ourselves on site, so as to not introduce any "fillers." We've carefully selected the finest meats, such as pepperoni, sausage, and steak, which are delivered to us from New Jersey. All of this translates into how you feel after you eat. We buy the best, make the best, and serve the best. A wise person once said, "The key to eating healthy? Avoid any food that has a TV commercial." If you think about it, the money either goes into advertising or better food quality. |
